Install for the current Windows user, then open Pet Dock from the Start menu.
No administrator rights, driver changes, or startup registration are expected.

Choose a local Windows download
Pet Dock is a local Windows companion app. Version 0.3.0 is the current preview; its installer and portable package bundle the required runtime for Windows 10/11 x64.
Portable ZIP
Extract the entire ZIP to a writable folder, then run PetDock.exe. Start.cmd is a fallback launcher.
Do not run it from inside the ZIP.
Stable fallback
Prefer the older stable build if the preview does not suit your setup.
Preview status
Read this before running v0.3.0
v0.3.0 is a preview and its downloads are unsigned. The project owner has reported a successful test on their Windows setup. Signing is not yet in place, and compatibility still depends on the specific hardware and system. Windows may show a warning; use only an artifact you trust and do not disable system protections to run it.
Microsoft Store version: in preparation. A separate MSIX has been prepared for Store review. It is not yet a live or certified Store release. Microsoft will handle signing for Store-distributed packages after approval; GitHub and itch.io downloads remain unsigned. The unsigned Store submission package is not a public sideload installer.
Close Pet Dock before an install or upgrade. The installer writes application files under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PetDock; its local state remains in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PetDock.
Choose your route
Installer or portable
- Installer: a per-user Start menu route with no administrator installation.
- Portable: keep the extracted app in a writable folder; its state lives in
data/beside the app. - Runtime: both current preview downloads include their runtime. No separate Python installation is required.
- Source: a source checkout does not include the bundled runtime. Follow the repository instructions to run it with Python.
